This Privacy policy (Personal data protection policy) shall apply as of 25 May 2018.

This Personal data protection policy has been developed in compliance with Art. 13 and Art. 14 of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR) General Data Protection Regulation). The purpose of this personal data protection policy is to inform you about the processing of your personal data, the aims of this processing, the measures and safeguards to protect your personal data, as well as about your rights under GDPR and the legislation of the EU and the Republic of Bulgaria.

2. What data we collect about you, for what purpose and on what grounds we process it

Personal data means any information about an individual by which a person can be identified. Anonymous data are not included in this category. We process the following categories of personal data:

We process this data for the purposes of communicating with you, for record keeping and for the establishment, pursuance or defence of legal claims. Customer/client data includes data relating to any purchases of publisher’s production and/or printing services such as: your name, billing address, delivery address, email address, contact details (telephone number), your purchase details, etc. We process this data to supply the publisher’s production and/or services you have purchased and to keep records of such transactions. Our lawful ground for this processing is the execution of a contract between you and St. Kliment Ohridski University Press, and/or taking steps to enter into such a contract.

User data includes data about how you use our website and any online services together with any data that you post for publication on our website or through other online services. We process this data to operate our website and ensure that relevant content is provided to you, to ensure the security of our website, to maintain back-ups of our website and/or databases and to enable publication and administration of our website, other online services and business. Our lawful grounds for this processing are our legitimate interests which in this case are to enable us to properly administer our website and our business.

Technical data includes data about your use of our website and online services such as your IP address, your login data, details about your browser, length of visit to pages on our website, page views and navigation paths, details about the number of times you use our website, time zone settings and other technology on the devices you use to access our website. The source of this data is from our analytics tracking system. We process this data to enable you to partake in our promotions such as games, prizes, free gifts, to deliver relevant website content and advertisements to you and measure or understand the effectiveness of this advertising. Our lawful grounds for this processing are our legitimate interests which in this case are to study how customers use our publisher’s production/printing services, to develop them, to grow our business and to make decisions on our marketing strategy.

Sensitive data. We do not collect any sensitive data about you. Sensitive data is data related to details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data. We do not collect any information about criminal convictions, committed crimes and offences.

Please note that when we are required to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of the contract between us, and you do not provide us with that data when requested, we may not be able to execute the contract (for example, to deliver publisher’s production or printing services to you). If you don’t provide us with the requested data, we may have to cancel the publisher’s product or printing service you have ordered, but if we do so, we will notify you in due course.

If we need to use your data for a new activity that is not related to the contract, we will notify you and will state the legal reasons for doing so.

We may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent only where this is permitted by law. We do not carry out any automated decision making or automated profiling.

3. How we collect your personal data

We may collect data about you by you providing the data directly to us (for example by filling in forms on our site or by sending us emails).

4. Marketing communications

Our lawful ground for processing your personal data to send you marketing communications is either your consent or our legitimate interests (namely to grow our business activity).

 Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, we may send you marketing communications if:

(A) you made a purchase, registered on our website, or asked for information from us about our publisher’s production or printing services, or

(B) you agreed to receive marketing communications, and in each case you have not opted out of receiving such communications since. Under the legal regulations, if you are a legal person, we may send you marketing emails without your consent. In this case you can opt out of receiving marketing emails from us at any time.
