This volume brings together most of the papers presented at the International Conference on Korean Studies “Korea: One Peninsula, Multiple Dimensions (Connectivity, Challenges, Perspectives)”, held at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski from 12 to 14 October, marking the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of Korean Studies in Bulgaria. The conference was part of the project Sofia University Marking Momentum for Innovation and Technological Transfer and was organized with the support of the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology and the Bulgarian National Science Fund (Project No. 80-10-143/03.06.2025).
More than eighty scholars from Europe, Asia, and America took part in the conference and its accompanying round tables. The forum provided a valuable space for scholarly dialogue, comparative perspectives, and the exchange of ideas, enhancing the visibility of the Bulgarian school of Korean Studies within both national and international academic communities. It brought together established and early-career researchers, doctoral candidates, and students, highlighting recent global developments in the field of Korean Studies and offering an opportunity to reflect on its contemporary mission and outline strategic directions for future Korea-related research.
