Assoc. Prof. Nadya Velinova-Sokolova, PhD, is a lecturer in the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Faculty of Economics and Business Adminisration, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She received her education at the University of National and World Economy - bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She defended her doctoral dissertation in 2004 in the field of derivative financial instruments. She lectures at Sofia University in the disciplines “Derivative Financial Instruments”, “Practical Course in Accounting and Finance”, “Accounting and Finance for Managers”, “Accounting of Insurance and Insurance Companies” and “Accounting in English”. She also conducts seminars in the disciplines “Introduction to Accounting”, “Financial Accounting” and “Management Accounting”. Her research interests are in the field of analysis and accounting of financial instruments, the activities of non-bank financial institutions, the development of portfolio theory, as well as the analysis and assessment of risk.
The monograph “Education 4.0 and innovative techniques in teaching” attempts to present the latest models and techniques of teaching, as well as the challenges facing higher education institutions in a COVID-19 pandemic.
Given the specifics of the subject, the publication will be useful for professionals in the field of teaching accounting and finance at universities, and for all who are interested in the problems of innovative teaching methods.
